Welcome to the Kodiak Island Virtual and STEM Learning Conference!
Tuesday, June 2 • 1:00pm - 3:30pm
Day 2 Afternoon Strand: Hack Your Notebook FULL
Limited Capacity seats available

Our feature keynote speakers and feature workshop presenters are David Cole and Natalie Freed of NEXMAP. They will be speaking about maker culture and presenting/guiding a workshop on paper circuitry. They will take participants from the basics of circuitry all the way up to programming/coding circuits. The exciting part about this experience is that it will be done using sticker circuits and sensors designed for the regular paper notebook. The nice thing about this session is that the presenters will help educators of any content area integrate notebook hacking (paper circuitry) into their classrooms. Even upper elementary teachers may want to consider this strand (grade 4 and up). School librarians may also find this experience useful and could use it as a way to help classroom teachers integrate creative research and storytelling in the classroom. Participants in this strand will walk away with a kit of supplies worth around $600.00 to begin paper circuitry with students in the fall. If you would like more information on paper circuitry check out:http://chibitronics.com/ and Natalie Freed’s blog:http://www.nataliefreed.com/latest/
